So, who is the_new_danger?

I've been inspired over the past few weeks to start over, not only on a fresh page, but an entirely new chapter of my life. With the new year upon us, I felt that creating something new would be decent first step in making changes. I'll make it all customized and to my liking in a little while. This is just a new way for me to chronicle my successes and setbacks in striving to achieve my new goals and aspirations. For far too long, I've lead a passive existence. I intend for that to change this year...

Okay, now that that is out of the way. Happy New Year Everybody! Hope you rang in the new year on a good note. I intended to go to both of the parties I was invited to last night, but that did not happen. Boy, did it not. I must say that Everclear is a hell of a liquor. When I first had a cup of the punch that my friend's roommate prepared, I thought it was just an innocent, delicious, citrus-y concoction. Almost like the punch my aunt makes every year at Christmas. But after my third cup, I started to get that familiar warm, fuzzy and friendly feeling inside. So of course, I asked her what actually was in the punch. All I could remember was her saying something about cranberry juice, something, something, sprite, and about "half a bottle of that". "That" was in reference to the gigantic bottle Everclear that was indeed near empty.

Though the rest of the night was very fun fun.  I do admit, I did get a little ass-slap happy towards the end of the night, since I was the only (non-married) guy left at the party by that time. I brought champagne, so we popped bottles, and toasted in the new year. Kisses all around when the clock stroke 12. A failed attempt at starting a game of drunk Operation. (the board game). Watching the South Park movie with the curse words in it on Comedy Central...

Eventually I woke up on Linzy's futon at about 8 this morning (I think). I was going to walk my other friend Sarah home, but damned if I wasn't still just a tad bit hungover. Glad she understood. So I took another hour, and walked home in the glow of a nice crisp New Year's morning.

So yeah, good start to what will be a great year.
Hope the same bodes well for you all.
